About Me

[pronounced ‘əbɛni abɛj’]
Hi, I’m Abeni Abeille. It’s like a Benihana. SoFlo resident cat with a New York State of Mind™.

Seasoned content writer with over seven years of experience writing and editing for various platforms. Some of my words have appeared in Her Campus UCF and The Odyssey Online.

As of Spring 2023, I am writing freelance nonfiction content as Abeni Abeille. My topics of choice are music, lifestyle, subcultures, alternative and contemporary fashion, astrology, pop culture pre-2015, and modern Black womanhood.

I also express my creativity through the professional avenues of marketing and branding. Facts: I used Adobe Spark Post predominantly in my university years, seldom using Canva. Post-college, the inverse is true. Today, Canva is my go-to and mainstay for creating eye-catching collateral and show-stopping signature logos.
I am very interested in fonts—one of my favorite fonts is Bodoni FLF. The perfect weight administration, never too overwhelming, and a little black dress of fonts. Raise me a great, groovy retro font that you like.

Thank you for visiting my portfolio. If you’d like to have me write for your blog/publication, use my services, or collaborate on Great Big Ideas, don’t hesitate to email me for enquiries.

P.S. Ask me about my music.

Quote of the Month: May 2024

At thirty-two, I can see tell-tale marks in the mirror, but the ravages of time no longer terrify me. I am told that when surface beauty is gone, the real woman emerges. My only regret will be that I could not have begun it earlier – that so many years have been ruined because I was considered beautiful.
